Congratulations, Rocky!

So this morning we were hanging out in Prospect Park when this couple w/a big dog called out "Nestle!" Turns out they were the couple Thelma & Louise placed Nestle with for one night last summer, back when Nestle was still a "foster dog" and not yet officially a permanent member of the family & my little sister. The couple invited Nestle over to spend the night as sort of a trial run to see if she'd like to move in w/them, but during that time Thelma decided she couldn't live w/o the little bee-catching weirdo & they picked her up the next day w/lots of heart-felt apologies & a black forest chocolate cake (as a consolation prize of sorts). Thelma & Louise felt awful about taking Nestle back & have often wondered if the couple ever tried to adopt another dog. Well, there they were in the park this a.m. w/Rocky, who is 1/2 Chesapeake Bay Retriever & half something else that makes him really tall. They told us Nestle was so well-behaved during her sleepover, they decided to get a dog that was the same primary breed b/c her temperment was so sweet & agreeable. Can you believe it?? So they went to the pound & rescued Rocky. I sniffed him all over; he's a good dog. So because of Nestle, Rocky got another chance at a good life. Congratulations, Rocky! And Nestle, you did good.
